One of the main topics of discussion in the new F1: Drive to Survive series is how Haas' boss, Steiner, lets Grosjean tear up after his troubles in early 2018.

In addition to swearing him on the pitwall, Steiner expresses himself at a team dinner at the Grand Prix de France where Grosjean is not present.

"Roman is not here," Steiner said. "Maybe it's not there because there's no point. Or I did not invite him because he does not deserve to food."

Although Grosjean has not yet seen the Netflix series in its entirety, he says Steiner's attitude does not bother him.

"I know Gunther, and he calls a cat a cat," said the Frenchman. "It suits me, we had discussions and we never lied, he always says the truth and that's something I appreciate.

"Honestly, if you told me to judge my first half of the season myself, I would have been loving myself." Everything is fine for me.

"I think I changed the direction of the boat in the second part, and I hope that he said some nice things in the second part.I did not hear him, but I hope. Otherwise, I'll just ***** * catch it! "

Sainz social boost

McLaren driver Carlos Sainz said he has already noticed the impact of his appearance in the Netflix series, as his social networking numbers jumped dramatically.

"The response was excellent," he said. "Entering the paddock today, many aficionados applauded her for telling me how good the Netflix episode was.

"I've registered 15,000 social media followers last week, which is a lot more daily and weekly than usual.

"So it shows that there are a lot of people in the United States and around the world who are watching this topic and who are interested in athletes and pilots, and this has been a great answer."

Grosjean echoed Sainz's opinion that the impact of the Netflix series should be extremely positive for F1.

"What I think is not what is very important," he said. "What's important is people outside of Formula 1 or those who do not follow Formula One, what they think of documentary is the most important thing.

"I have met a lot of people at the airport who have said that it 's great, awesome. It' s likely to attract more followers in Formula 1, it's amazing, so yes, on social networks, the response was very good and the comments very positive. "
