After talking with the Los Angeles Lakers, Ron Adams will retain his revised role on the coaching staff of the Golden State Warriors, ESPN sources told the league.

The Lakers had received permission from the Warriors to discuss with Adams the possibility of joining Frank Vogel's staff, but no official offer was made, according to a league source.

Adams was a key assistant coach for the Warriors. He has just finished his fifth season with Steve Kerr's staff and his 25th season overall as an NBA assistant coach.

The Lakers are still looking for coaches to join assistants Jason Kidd and Lionel Hollins.

Dave McMenamin of ESPN contributed to this report.
