It's no secret that Fox News is obsessed with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and has devoted many hours of programming to criticizing the first-year lawmaker in every possible way. But a contributor * drove this obsession to new heights Saturday, jokingly suggesting in a raucous speech that the Green New Deal could lead to cannibalism.
"AOC has completely lost its marbles. I think she lives on bananaland, "said National Review columnist Katherine Timpf. "Earlier this week, she was called" the boss "for having proposed the Green New Deal. How are you the "boss" for developing a plan that does not work? Are you sure the Green New Deal is not what you put in your pipe and smoke every day? "
Timpf said it could develop many plans that would not work: "Why not fly with unicorns instead of planes? How about the fairy powder we get from Tinkerbell instead of gas? The columnist then wonders if Ocasio-Cortez "wants us to get rid of any modern technology" before suggesting that the deal would lead to a return to the middle. 1800s and "relive the Donner party".
"I do not want to eat people, Greg, and I do not want people to eat me," said Timpf. "AOC, do you want people to eat you?" She said that just after suggesting that the Green New Deal would also force her to "eat only lettuce and carrots as some kind of rabbit fucking."
Timpf's speech was guided by an article she wrote earlier this week in which she stated that the first-year lawmaker was "ridiculous," while calling the plan useless because it did not. has no chance to work. "Would the world be a better place if the United States eliminated all carbon emissions? Of course, it would be better if we all have free Lamborghini, "wrote Timpf. "The truth, however, is that being a remarkable leader requires much more than just fantasies about unimaginable proposals without a future."
What inspired all this disordered anger? Ocasio-Cortez recently gave a speech at an event entitled "Girls Who Code", in which she had defended the Green New Deal against critics that it was unrealistic. "People are like," Oh, it's unrealistic, oh, it's vague, oh, that does not fix that little detail, "and I'm like," You try, you do it. "Because you're not there, so in the meantime, I'm the boss, why not that?" Ocasio-Cortez also spoke to Twitter on Saturday to defend herself against a similar accusation that she would be a hypocritical to enjoy the comfort of modern life. "I also fly [planes] & use A / C. Living in the world is not an argument against looking for a better future, "she wrote. "The green Green New Deal is about getting a lot of people involved in developing new technologies, building new infrastructure and moving to 100% renewable energy."
