Labar’s first wife, Gaile Labar-Bernhardt, told TMZ he was found dead Wednesday in his Nashville apartment.
Labar joined the group in 1985, replacing original guitarist Michael Schermick. He played on all four of the group’s studio albums. The group the first two albums, the years 1986 Night songs and the years 1988 Long cold winter have both been certified triple platinum with sales of over 3 million copies each.
But at the end of this era of festive hard rock, Cinderella’s fortune declined. They continued to work, but went their separate ways in the early 1990s. They reunited in 1996 and continued to perform, but stopped recording after the 1994 album. Still climbing.
