A man was killed and six people injured Sunday afternoon when an armed gunman opened fire on a barbecue in Baltimore, police said.
Baltimore Police Commissioner Michael Harrison said that the man had escaped after the shooting.
He "started shooting indiscriminately at the crowd, hitting a number of people," Harrison told reporters. "What we think is that there was a second shooter, who may have fought back" on the suspect.
Harrison said the details about the victims were not immediately available.

WBAL, a NBC affiliate, said the shooter seemed to "target a person, if not more, in this crowd."
The station reported that the shooting occurred on Edmondson Avenue, west of downtown Baltimore.
According to the Associated Press, there have been more than 300 homicides each year in the city in 2017 and 2018.
