Guns N ‘Roses released another new song from their Chinese democracy-periods called “Hard Skool”. It follows their performance and the subsequent official release of “Absurd”, a rework of their never-before-seen “Silkworms”.
In the driving song, frontman Axl Rose delivers tough lessons about relationships, where being stubborn and ruthless could kick you to the curb. “You had to play it cool, you had to do it your way / You had to be a jerk, you had to throw it all away,” he sings. “School is too hard, and you thought you were here to stay / If that was true, it wouldn’t matter anyway.” However, Guns N ‘Roses won’t let you dry out. In the audio video they shared, the number 800 scribbled on a locker in the clip playfully leads to “America’s hottest conversation line.”
The band are currently on tour and last week, during their visit to the Etess Arena in Atlantic City, Rose discussed the first song written for Guns N ‘Roses, “Don’t Cry”. Earlier in the month, the group welcomed surprise guest Dave Grohl to their BottleRock festival set to play “Paradise City,” though he was cut halfway through due to curfew rules in the Napa Valley.
