Talk about a hybrid.
Celebrity Chef Guy Fieri and Chevrolet are saluting the all-American game with the ultimate all-American treat that will be served at Major League Baseball’s Field of Dreams game on August 12.
Mr. “Diners, Drive-in and Dives” created an Apple Pie Hot Dog inspired by a famous 1975 Chevrolet commercial that sang “we love baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and Chevrolet” with the jingles author Ed Labunski.
“As a longtime Chevrolet guy, it’s great to work together on this awesome MLB snack at the Field of Dreams Game,” Fieri said of the collaboration. “I can’t wait to see the fans’ reactions as they take their first bite of the Apple Pie Hot Dog!”
The unusual snack includes a beef hot dog wrapped in an apple pie crust with garnish, bacon jam and topped with a drizzle of apple mustard, apple pie spice and brown sugar.
Fieri isn’t adding it to the menu at any of its restaurants (yet!), But for those who can’t make it to the movie-inspired game, Chevrolet has released the full recipe to try at home.
Fieri drives a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro on Triple D, but has several Chevrolets in his personal collection, including a small yellow Corvette.

As for next year’s game, Chevrolet gave Fieri something to work on when he restarted the commercial in 2006 with goat cheese pizza, bottled water, frozen yogurt, pretzels. gastronomic experiences to reflect the modern experience of the stadium.
The Field of Dreams game will air live from Dyersville, Iowa at 7 p.m. ET on Fox.
