As Coco Chanel famously said (and countless Pinterest charts): "A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life."
So when Donald Trump arrived at a commemorative ceremony for the filming of Virginia Beach with a remarkably new and elegant hairstyle, critics of his chair hinted a resounding sound: "Huh?
Just out of a golf game and wearing a strange wide leg pants to attend an event in the honor of the victims of the bombing, the president inexplicably abandoned his signature.
Some on Twitter have called chic used car salesmen. Others cited the inspiration of former vice president, Joe Biden, or even OfficeMichael Scott, a fiction. The current theory seems to be that Trump might have suffered from some MAGA hat hair.
Dhiran Mistry, a hairdresser at the David Mallet Salon in New York City, does not believe that "getting dressed" can be an accident.
"I'm sure they could say that he took off his hat and that looked like that," said Mistry at the Daily Beast. "But [to get that style] you must first put your hair back, then your hat, so that he knows what it would look like.
Plus, there was the revealing brilliance in Trump's threads that betrayed a fair amount of styling product.
Mistry called Patrick Batemen-esque back. "He's trying to be cool, but he'll never be cool," he said. "It's a bit like American Psycho back, and he's definitely an American psychopath. "
But Patrick Kelly Kyle, an independent editorialist based in New York, says the look softens Trump's image, which is constantly being exaggerated. "I think it looks so much more affordable with his hair like that," Kyle said. "Much more laid back."
Last year, Trump's hair – or, more accurately, his absence – hit the headlines when a video filmed on a windy day showed bald spots springing from his back. This weekend proved that the president still had some growth around his crown.
"I was surprised to see that he still has that amount of hair," Kyle said. "He has a little weight. If he was super, super, super bald, that wet look would have made him look like a noodle, and he did not do it. I really think that it has a little thinning, though. "

Devin Toth, who works at the SCK show on the Upper East Side Side, suggested that Trump carry scissors on the end of his strands before he puts anything back.
"I think it's elegant, but the cut should be different," Toth explained. "Weighting the length would be helpful. It's good to keep some length in the back, but not if it's a ducktail. "
For what it's worth, Roger Stone approves. As the former president's advisor wrote on Instagram: "I've known @realdonaldtrump for 40 years. I do not think he has ever looked better!
Unfortunately for the dirty crook (and the ultra-holding styling gel retailers), Trump's hat hair did not last long. During his visit to the UK on Monday, the comb was back.
