A new Infinite halo The flight test gave Halo Fans have yet another chance to get acquainted with Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PC gaming, and in the process, gamers have “discovered” a significant and controversial gameplay issue. Discovered is being put in quotes because it turns out that the issue gamers are concerned about is a false alarm, or at least that’s what one game developer claims.
Speaking to Twitter, Quinn DelHoyo, the game’s lead sandbox designer, said the viral video showing the aim assist on the mouse and keyboard was misleading. If you haven’t seen the video, it shows an AFK player (away from the keyboard) and his reticle following players who pass without any input. Of course, joystick aim assist is a hot topic in the gaming community. So it’s no surprise that gamers were furious when they saw what was a very generous aim assist on the mouse and keyboard. That said, according to the aforementioned developer, aim assist is instantly disabled when the player touches the mouse. In other words, it has no effect on the gameplay, or at least the effect is so negligible that it can’t even be measured.
“In this example, as soon as a player touches their mouse, aim assist is instantly turned off,” said DelHoyo. “Once the mouse movement stops, it takes half a second to re-activate. This does not take effect during gameplay.”
