While Forge isn’t included when Halo Infinite launches, new leaks have revealed just how powerful the revamped toolkit could be, as a full-fledged scripting system has been discovered.
We are only nine weeks from launch of Halo Infinite, 343’s latest attempt to reinvigorate the beloved FPS franchise after a six-year hiatus. While multiplayer is underway with the single player portion of Infinite’s upcoming campaign, a some key features will be missed on the first day.
Namely, Forge was delayed until Season 3 of Infinite’s post-launch roadmap. The popular feature has been present in the last four main titles and although it is currently in the works, a Season 3 release puts it roughly halfway through 2022.
Despite this, leaks spread early that seem to reveal the complexity of Forge’s ambitious 343 upgrade. Along with traditional map design and fashion features, Infinite’s Forge apparently comes with its own scripting system.

Leaked images were posted to social media on October 8, offering a first look at the new iteration of Forge. These images revealed a complex series of “knots” as the creator established his own game logic with an intricate scripting system.
On-screen controller inputs allow users to interact with the “Node Graph”, creating more nuanced experiences than ever before.
Similar to the Overwatch Workshop or even Garry’s Mod, a scripting system like this would give the creators of Forge more power and control than they’ve ever known since the toolkit was introduced. in 2007.
These nodes allow for a deeper level of customization, allowing players to set unique functions, change weapon damage values, or even trigger various animations and effects. Tooltips range from “On Game Start” to “On Player Killed” and pretty much everything in between. These can all activate unique functions at specific intervals with the right nodes in place.
At the base level, players could craft modes that were once not possible in previous versions of The Forge. But at the next level, creators who really have a knack for game development and scripting tools could essentially create entirely new levels and tell their own stories in the Halo universe.
As far as we know, inventive Halo players might even craft their own battle royale game modes before 343 Industries tackled them.

The possibilities are almost endless with players able to manually change the logic and create their own systems. If these leaks hold true, Infinite’s Forge would arguably be the most powerful creative tool set the community has seen to date.
At this time, however, it’s unclear whether this complex system will reach the full game. Forge doesn’t have a release date set in Infinite, which means we might not be hearing anything more for quite a while.
