Halo Infinite developer 343 Industries has posted a new “Inside Infinite” article that gives fans a much-appreciated update on the game’s development. Specifically, this article focuses on what the developer’s sandbox team is planning and created for the Halo Infinite gaming experience.

However, while 343 Industries designs these sandbox elements to be effective, they also want to make sure that they aren’t oppressive. “When we prototyped gear, we looked to those that complemented and improved the core combat loop – pushing the boundaries just far enough to feel empowered without being disruptive,” Temmerman said. “We researched gear that can be combined with maps, modes, weapons and vehicles in new and effective ways.”
Additionally, 343 Industries also wanted to make sure that the sandbox tools were simple enough to use and understand for beginner players, but nuanced enough that highly skilled players could master them and gain a unique advantage as a result. “Another key aspect was equipment with a low skill floor and a high skill ceiling,” Temmerman said. “In other words, equipment that is easy to understand and use for new players, but with mastery elements that allow top players to do amazing things.”
Some of the smaller but visible highlights of the article include discussions of different types of ammo, the announcement that Halo Infinite will feature fully remappable controls across all platforms, and renders of several Halo Infinite weapons.
