Halo Infinite will offer an "AAA Player Investment Experience" including microtransactions

A recently published job offer at 343 Industries, developer Halo Infinite, gives an idea of what to expect from the Xbox One and PC shooter with regards to the "live" character of the game.

Microsoft is hiring a "Live Design Manager" who will develop strategies to keep users in touch with Halo Infinite long after they are posted. This includes all kinds of things, from progression in and out of the game, engagement in social media and, apparently, through some sort of microtransaction strategy. A job advertisement line indicates that the candidate will design and deliver an "AAA Player Investment" experience that includes microtransactions.

"Design and deliver an AAA player-centric investment experience focused on our fans and their desire to express their passion for our franchise (including, but not limited to, microtransactions)", reads in the publication.

The line "expressing their passion" is apparently a reference to cosmetics for the characters in the game, but nothing is confirmed at this stage.

It is no surprise that Halo Infinite performs microtransactions, since a 2018 job posting was made by an online design director who would oversee a number of game elements as a service, especially microtransactions.

Interestingly, the wording of Live Design Lead and Online Experience Design Director has a number of similarities, including central points. The job posting for Online Experience Design Director has expired, but it is not clear if the job has been filled.

Anyway, the new position of Live Design Lead also indicates that the chosen candidate's responsibility is to "put the player first in all the designs of his team", and the players are probably delighted to hear him say , considering how microtransactions can go to the dirty side.

This new position of Design Manager Live is a relatively high position, as a successful candidate must have at least eight years of experience in two or more AAA titles and a thorough understanding of the business models in the games "and beyond". The successful candidate should also know how to develop structures that maintain people's interest in Halo after stopping playing, while 343 also looks for someone who has a "global understanding of player psychology" with respect to creating experiences allowing people to come back. .

Halo 5 also included microtransactions and real service elements, which is nothing new for the Halo franchise.

Halo Infinite will be launched during Holiday 2020 for Xbox One and PC, while the game will also enter Microsoft's next-generation console, Project Scarlett.
