Former Benetton and McLaren rider Alexander Wurz believes Lewis Hamilton will improve his spirits against Valtteri Bottas.
The Mercedes duo dominated the opening rounds of the 2019 World Championship, winning all the victories in the race in an unprecedented record of five doubles in two finals to start the season.
Although Hamilton leads the championship after the Spanish Grand Prix, Wurz thinks Bottas can fight for a world title this season.
"He can and must fight for the world championship", Wurz told Speedweek.
"Last year, he had a technical problem and has not been well established in the team yet. But he has prepared well in winter and now leads with confidence. "
However, Wurz also added that he hoped that the style of play between the two players would increase soon, hinting at Hamilton's time with Nico Rosberg as a Mercedes teammate.
"You can already notice the first little jeers. The more Bottas does good things, the more Hamilton will react.
"It will be fascinating to see what happens."
