Odom Jr. shared the news that he was absent from the show on Twitter, although he did not explain what kept him from performing.

The 39-year-old actor and singer is best known for playing villainous Aaron Burr in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton musical.

The real Burr fell into political disgrace after shooting and killing his nemesis Alexander Hamilton in a duel, although he was never charged with the crime despite the fact that the duel was illegal.

The gifted singer would have been a logical choice for Christmas-themed performances, as he has released Christmas music albums before: Simply Christmas 2016 and The Christmas Album in November.
