Starring actor Harrison Ford (American graffiti (1973), Apocalypse now (1979), Air Force One (1997), What is below (2000), 42 (2013)) has had a long and illustrious career, but is perhaps best known for his work with the two popular Lucasfilm franchises Star wars and Indiana Jones.

From the moment Ford stepped onto the big screen as everyone’s favorite scruffy nerfher Han Solo, in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977), it was cemented in Star wars the story alongside the late Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia Organa) and Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker).
Ford, despite his well-known aversion to the Star wars franchise as a whole – and completely ignorant of what a Force Ghost is – went on to reprise his role as the swashbuckling captain of the Millennium Falcon in Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983).
Most recently, Ford appeared as Solo in the back-to-back trilogy, first in Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens (2015) and then, briefly, in a scene with Kylo Ren / Ben Solo (Adam Driver) in Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker (2019).
In the middle of it all, however, there was always Indy. Ford played Indiana Jones – Dr Henry Jones, Jr. – in four films starting with the classic Indiana Jones and the raiders of the lost ark (nineteen eighty one).
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) followed, with the most recent film, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was released in theaters in 2008.

Recently, rumors that Chris Pratt joined the Indiana Jones franchise – the still untitled Indiana Jones 5 The project finally kicks off this spring, with 78-year-old Ford returning for another go-around as an adventurer – twirled in line.
Ultimately, however, Ford has already put the rumors of someone else, in particular – and hilariously – as you will discover, Chris Pine (he was talking about Pratt), to rest in 2019 when he was asked about the iconic role.
The irony in all of this is that Pine was recently hooked up to Patty Jenkins’ upcoming episode. Star wars movie, Star Wars: Thieves Squadron (2023). Talk about a full circle.
But back to Ford. During Today showing the appearance, the actor said:
“No one will be Indiana Jones! You do not understand? I am Indiana Jones. When I left, he left. It’s easy. That’s one way of saying that to Chris Pine. I’m sorry, man.
Access Hollywood later followed up with Ford, who confirmed he seriously thought his statement.
While we certainly can’t be sure whether Chris Pratt will ever be cast into the Indiana Jones franchise – whether as a young Indy or any other character – it doesn’t look like that is happening on Harrison Ford’s watch.
However, this did not stop the that something else will eventually pick up the torch from Indiana Jones, whether in the or some time after .
