Fox News host Sean Hannity has come to the defense of the senses. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Josh Hawley, R-Mo., Tuesday after House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson, D-Miss. on the no-fly list after last week’s riot on Capitol Hill.
Senate Democrats have stepped up their calls for Cruz and Hawley to resign after Wednesday’s chaos on the U.S. Capitol that left five dead, saying their role in challenging the November election results had helped “undermine” the democracy.
Thompson told SiriusXM’s Joe Madison Show on Monday that elected officials who are found responsible for inciting the deadly attack should be added to the no-fly list with the perpetrators as “national terrorists.”
Hannity called Thompson’s remarks “crazy” and dismissed the move as a clear act of “overtaking that would be fundamentally unfair.”

“Again, this is all because a few Republicans have legally requested an emergency audit,” he said. “They have a right to defend their opinions. That’s what Congress means. Are we all supposed to think exactly the same way?”
Hannity pointed out what he called a blatant double standard, noting that “[Rep.] Maxine Waters [D-Calif.] disputed the results of the Russian hoax in 2016 [and] no one has talked about putting her on a no-fly list.

“So what’s the norm here?” he said.
Cruz and Hawley were vocal objectors during last week’s election vote count, but neither endorsed force or violence, Hannity noted. Both lawmakers strongly condemned the attack and called for serious consequences for those who break the law.
