The world should see a new album by Harry Styles of One Direction soon as we witness an advertising blitz launched with a naked torso. Rolling stone cover, photographed by Ryan McGinley.
Styles finished his solo world tour a little over a year ago at the Los Angeles Forum.
During the concert, he reacted to a gay fan who held a sign for the singer.
Styles after approaching the fan: "Can I read [the sign]? He says "I am gay and I love you".
"I love you too," replied Styles. "Thank you for coming in. I mean, we are all a little gay."
Styles has demonstrated support for the LGBTQ community throughout the tour. He sold tour goods – rainbow t-shirts with the phrase "treat people with kindness" – which benefited GLSEN. He waved a rainbow flag that said "Make America once more cheerful".
Styles sparked a frenzy on social media in March 2018 after performing his title "Medicine" at a concert in Basel, Switzerland. Some suggested that the lyrics meant that he was coming out as bisexual.
Styles was tight-lipped when asked about her sexuality in an interview in 2017 with the British tabloid The Sun.
"It's weird for me – everyone should be what they want to be," Styles said. "It's hard to justify someone having to answer someone else about things like that."
When asked if he attributes a label to his sexual orientation, Styles replied, "No, I've never felt the need to do it." No."
But he praised artists like Miley Cyrus who spoke about it: "In a creative field, it's important to be progressive. People who do things like that, that's great.
Styles also said in a French talk show that he sees LGBT equality as "fundamental" and not political.
In 2014, Styles told his One Direction co-member Niall Horan: "Hey, do not hit him before you try," when Horan was asked about male dating.
