Harvard removes Republican Elise Stefanik from advisory board

BOSTON – The Harvard Institute of Politics has removed Representative Elise Stefanik (RN.Y.) from its senior advisory committee following last week’s deadly riot on the U.S. Capitol, highlighting her unsubstantiated allegations of fraud election during the November elections.

“Elise has made public claims about electoral fraud in the November presidential election that have no basis for evidence, and she has made public statements about election-related lawsuits that are incorrect,” Harvard Kennedy School dean Douglas Elmendorf wrote in a letter published Tuesday. . “Further, these assertions and statements do not reflect political disagreements but address the foundations of the electoral process through which the leaders of this country are chosen.”

The school first asked Stefanik to step down, according to Elmendorf. When the New York lawmaker refused, the school fired her. Stefanik was among 147 House Republicans who voted against certification of President-elect Joe Biden’s electoral victory.
