NASHVILLE, Tennessee (WTVF) – A fireball was spotted over Nashville early Thursday morning.

Sky 5 was in the air when pilot Jason Morgan spotted the bright light flying into the sky.

Many reports on a sighting of a fireball over the Carolinas began circulating around 5:50 am (CST), as Sky 5 noticed them above Music City.

According to NASA officials, reports from the American Meteor Society indicate that the trajectory began between Columbia (South Carolina) and Charlotte (North Carolina) and ended near Wilmington (Caroline North).

It has been seen as far as Georgia and Florida.
