HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Hawaii reported 366 new cases of COVID-19 and seven other deaths on Friday.
The latest infections bring the total number of infections statewide to 79,572 since the start of the pandemic.
The new deaths bring the death toll to 789.
In September alone, the state had recorded 193 deaths from COVID. This was more than the number seen in June, July and August combined. During that three-month period, Hawaii recorded 89 deaths from COVID.
Among the new infections reported on Friday:
- 212 were on Oahu
- 91 on the island of Hawaii
- 39 on Maui
- 13 on Kauai
- 4 on Molokai
There were also seven residents diagnosed out of state.
The state health ministry does not provide the immunization status of new cases and deaths, but authorities provided the following information on the seven deaths on Friday:
Oahu
- 1 Woman, 40-49 years old, hospitalized
- 2 Woman, 50-59 years old, hospitalized
- 1 man, 60-69 years old, hospitalized
- 1 woman, 60-69 years old, hospitalized
- 1 woman, 80 years and over, hospitalized
Hawaii
- 1 man, 40-49 years old, hospitalized
In the past 14 days, 4,883 cases have been reported.
Some 68% of the state’s population are fully immunized, while 76.1% have received at least one dose.
