Hawkeye: Black Widow’s Florence Pugh, 5 More Join Marvel Series (Report)

Disney + Hawk Eye has set its sights on half a dozen additions to the Marvel series.

Announced in April 2019, Hawk Eye will play Jeremy Renner (reprising his MCU role from Clint Barton aka the titular archer) and Hailee Steinfeld (as padawan Kate Bishop).

Our sister site Variety is now reporting, via sources / unconfirmed by Disney or Marvel, that Florence Pugh will reprise her role as the next one. Black Widow original film, as the murdered sister of Natasha Romanova, Yelena Belova.

In addition, Vera Farmiga (Motel Bates) would have been chosen to play Kate’s mother, Eleanor.

Newcomer Alaqua Cox will play Maya Lopez aka Echo, a deaf Native American who boasts “photographic reflexes” (the ability to perfectly copy other people’s movements), while Zahn McClarnon (Longmire) would have been chosen as Maya’s father, William.

Finally, Tony Dalton (You better call Saul) will play Jack Duquesne, who is believed to be a former Hawkeye Swordsman mentor, while newcomer Fra Fee was reportedly cast as a character named Kazi, who Variety says is a shorthand for Kazimierz Kazimierczak aka the Evil Clown.

Hawk Eye is one of several television series produced by Marvel Studios En Route to Disney +. WandaVision will now be the first to release, premiering on January 15, 2021, while The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (which was designed for a fall 2020 launch but experienced COVID-related delays) will likely follow a little later.
