Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid was released from hospital Monday after leaving Arrowhead Stadium in an ambulance on Sunday following his team’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
The team said Monday afternoon that Reid, 63, is expected to return to work later Monday or Tuesday morning, adding that the veteran head coach was in “good spirits”.
After Sunday’s loss, the Chiefs announced that Reid was feeling bad. James Palmer of NFL Network reported that Reid left the stadium in an ambulance for precautionary reasons. Special teams coordinator Dave Toub took care of the post-match press conference duties. Defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo and offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy addressed the media on Monday.
Later Sunday evening, Chiefs released a statement, confirming that Reid had been rushed to the University of Kansas health care system as a precaution.
“The coach is doing well, is currently resting and in stable condition,” the team said at the time.
The Chiefs (1-2) visit the Eagles (1-1) in Philadelphia on October 3.
