Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law and former senior adviser to Donald Trump, called the former president “leader of the Republican Party” while discussing his upcoming appearance at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).

In a Saturday night appearance on Fox News Justice with Judge Jeanine, Lara Trump said: “Look, he is the leader of the Republican Party”, referring to the former president. “He really is the person everyone will continue to turn to to help them cross the line.”

“Whether we are talking about 2022 or beyond, I think this man has changed his policies and he has changed our party, the Republican Party,” she added. “There is no doubt about that.”

Former President Donald Trump is due to speak at CPAC in Orlando, Florida next week in his first major public appearance since leaving in January.

Trump has spoken to CPAC in previous years, but it was not clear whether he would appear at the conference following his loss in the 2020 presidential election until Saturday.

The conservative annual conference, which normally takes place near Washington DC, has been moved to Florida this year to avoid the strict coronavirus restrictions maintained in the region. State restrictions on coronaviruses in Florida were lifted at the end of 2020.

The conference organizers said Newsweek Saturday, which Trump will speak on Sunday afternoon, the final day of the conference, which is scheduled to take place Feb. 25-28.

The former president will use his time to discuss the future of the Republican Party and the Conservative movement, according to The hill. Trump is also expected to attack President Joe Biden’s immigration plan by pushing for “a disastrous amnesty and border policies”.

The former president’s allies – including Republican Senator from Texas Ted Cruz, Florida Representative Matt Gaetz and Alabama Representative Mo Brooks – will be guest speakers at the convention.

“I’m really excited to hear him at CPAC. Obviously this will be the first time anyone has heard from him since he left office,” said Lara Trump, adding that she believed that the former president will take time on his speech. to thank his supporters.

“The wave of support for Donald Trump since he left office has been so incredible,” she added. “So he’ll probably have a big thank you to these people.”

When appearing on Justice with Judge Jeanine, Lara Trump also noted that her stepfather “has indicated he would likely be interested in running again in 2024”.
