Most of us probably use our phones for alarms every morning, no matter how many times they inevitably screw us up. However, you don’t have to ditch the frills of a web-connected clock to upgrade to a dedicated device. The Lenovo Smart Clock Essential is a great alternative to those bulky old radios of yesteryear, and you can buy one – with a smart bulb included – for just $ 17 at your local Walmart.
To be clear, this gadget isn’t the Lenovo Smart Clock 2 that AP’s Ryne Hager has recently been obsessed with. Instead, it’s a more basic device – hence the “Basics” in the title – that really focuses on the basics: audio, assistant and telling the time. When we reviewed it last year it got a solid recommendation and as the owner of one of them I can attest to that personally. While the price seemed a bit high at launch, it has been on sale several times in recent months, falling well into impulse buy territory.
We’ve certainly never seen it so cheap, of course. For $ 17, you can pick up the Lenovo Smart Clock Essential with a matching RGB compatible bulb, but you’ll need to visit your local Walmart to take advantage of this deal. Thankfully, unlike some store exclusives, it looks like there’s a lot of stock for these. Most stores near me have at least six ready-made bundles, and AP’s Taylor Kerns has spotted similar availability in her area.
