The witcher star Henry Cavill reminded us this weekend that his true passion is still Warhammer 40,000, even while promoting the upcoming second season of his hit Netflix show. Earlier this weekend, Netflix and CD Projekt Red hosted WitcherCon, an online streaming event focused on The witcher series of games and shows. Netflix Star The witcher the Henry Cavill series was at the center of the event, but it also promoted the famous sci-fi franchise Warhammer 40,000 in an interview. As he sat in front of an interior set by Kaer Morhan, Cavill noted that one of the massive chandeliers in the set looked like a Blackstone Fortress, a huge alien spaceship used by the forces of Chaos during their endless war against the forces of man.

Cavill is a famous Warhammer 40,000 fan, and spent at least part of the pandemic painting Adeptus Custodes figures. He also recently posted a photo to Instagram that showed a Warhammer 40,000 novel in his reading pile. Cavill isn’t just a fan of the dark shadows of the far future, he’s an avid fan.
Cavill also noted that he was not able to fully understand the resemblance of the setting to a Blackstone fortress prior to the interview, as no one else on the Witcherthe set was one Warhammer 40,000 fan. Given that the second season was filmed at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, we hope that social distancing and other precautionary measures have prevented Cavill from finding a mate. Although it is not clear if Warhammer 40,000 Manufacturer Games Workshop contacted Cavill to be a brand ambassador or the star of a War hammer show or movie, someone in the company has certainly noticed his repeated references to the show. After one of Netflix’s Twitter accounts posted a photo of the Blackstone Fortress-like chandelier, Warhammer’s official Twitter account responded and said it couldn’t think of anyone more qualified to explore the ship than Cavill.
We can’t think of anyone more qualified to explore a Black Stone Fortress!
