DETROIT – Two great-great-grandchildren of Ford Motor founder Henry Ford have been named to the company’s board of directors, the automaker said on Friday.
Alexandra Ford English, 33, is the daughter of Ford Executive Chairman Bill Ford. She is currently director of corporate strategy within the company, responsible for corporate strategic plans, connectivity and digital network.
Henry Ford III, 40, is the son of Ford board member Edsel B. Ford II, 72, who plans to retire in May. Ford III is currently Ford’s Director of Investor Relations.
Ford Motor Company today announced that Alexandra Ford English and Henry Ford III have been nominated for election to the company’s board of directors at its annual meeting of shareholders on May 13.

“I am happy and proud that we have a new generation of leaders in the Ford family who believe in serving the company and ensuring it remains a positive and successful force in the world for years to come,” Bill Ford said in a statement.
The second open seat on the board would replace former KPMG International executive John Lechleiter, 67, who decided not to run for office in May, according to the company.
English and Ford III will stand for election to the company’s board of directors at its annual meeting of shareholders on May 13.
