Here are all the new features in Death Stranding’s director’s cut

Death Stranding: Director’s Cut was announced at Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest in June, so it makes sense that even more scrutiny will be revealed at Geoff Keighley’s Gamescom Opening Night Live. This is exactly what besties like Hideo Kojima and Keighley do.

In the gaze extended over the Director’s Cup, Kojima Productions shared new delivery tools, like a cargo launcher and boots that reduce fall damage. Buddy Bot has also been shown in more detail; it’s a new feature that allows Sam Porter Bridges to haul more cargo, or even move around while Buddy Bot does all the hauling. There’s also a shooting range where players can train with weapons – and “train and compete” for high scores.

New “action-packed” delivery missions are also coming. In the clip we to do see Sam Porter Bridges go deep into what appears to be an underground facility. More. there are new weapons and also the possibility to revisit the boss fights. (You can check them out in your room.) This means players can, again, compete for high scores.

Too stressful? The Director’s Cup has new songs for Sam Porter Bridges to dance to in his bedroom. For even more fun, the Director’s Cup will also allow players to do stunts and tricks, as well as race on a racetrack, on the motorcycle and other vehicles. Yes, Death stranding is now Mario Kart.

However, the trailer has apparently replaced Sam Porter Bridges’ beloved Monster energy drinks with a generic brand. Overwhelming!

Since this announcement in June, information on the Director’s Cup – including the fact that Kojima doesn’t like to call it a director’s cut – has slowly spread. This new version of Death stranding will launch on PlayStation 5 on September 24, several other major improvements to the game, other than those mentioned on Wednesday. Many focus on combat, but there are also additional tools to help Sam Porter Bridges be a more effective delivery man – like the aforementioned catapult and robot carrier.
