In its second year, Healdsburg has received three Michelin stars. The restaurant, which will probably be one of the top 50 restaurants in the world in 2019, is one of 57 restaurants in the Bay Area operating on November 29th. It is the first restaurant in Sonoma County to receive three stars.
"We are extremely proud of our team of farmers, chefs and service professionals. Everyone has spent so much effort over the past two years creating a warm and welcoming environment. It's such an honor to be here in Sonoma County among talented farmers, winegrowers and artisans. We are very proud to share this with everyone, "said Chef / Owner Kyle Connaughton.
According to Michelin: "SingleThread Since opening in 2016, the talented couple at the helm of this powerful project has demonstrated a consistent commitment to the highest standards of ingredient quality and fine dining. " Three stars are considered the highest honor that a restaurant can receive. The guides began in 1900 to allow motorists to find good hotels and restaurants. (And a good marketing ploy for Michelin tires). According to the guide, three stars is worth a "special trip".
The Crenn Workshop in San Francisco also received three stars, up from two last year.
Keeping their three stars in the land of wine is The restaurant at Meadowood in Saint Helena, the French Laundry in Yountvilleand, in San Francisco and the peninsula, Quince, Benu, Season and Manresa.
Coi in San Francisco is awarded two stars, the rest of the category remaining pretty much the same. There are no two star restaurants in North Bay.
Finally, with a star, Madrona Manor in Healdsburg and the Farmhouse Inn in Forestville continue their winning streak – both with more than a decade on the list. Terrapin Creek in Bodega Bay has fallen off the list this year.
I just got the call from @MichelinGuideSF a star ⭐️ for 2019. Thank you to my team for all the work done.

"The restaurant scene in San Francisco is booming and our inspectors were particularly impressed by the choice of cooking styles, the consistency and overall quality of the food that they found in the city," said Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of Michelin Guides.
"In particular, the Crenn Workshop and SingleThread teams should be extremely proudour inspectors were very impressed by the quality of the products used for the preparation of the dishes. THer meticulousness, attention to detail, creativity and dedication to delighting her clients allow her to always offer guests a memorable and very enjoyable dining experience. Without a doubt, they are really worth a special trip! "
Inspectors of the "gourmet guide", whose name is deemed anonymous, have improved their game in recent years, after passing the control of the cruise for years. The list, however, is a code difficult enough to decipher and has been considered from time to time as a curse for small restaurants that are overwhelmed by advertising.
The restaurants selected for the annual Michelin guide are judged on five criteria defined by Michelin: product quality; preparation and flavors; the personality of the chef revealed by his cooking; value for money; and consistency over time and over the entire menu. San Francisco's official 2019 Michelin Guide will be released on Tuesday, December 4, and will include award-winning Bib Gourmand restaurants last week.
If you want to taste Michelin-starred chefs, Single Thread will host an event on December 4 at the Healdsburg restaurant with Dominique Crenn from Atelier Crenn. The event will feature eleven courses featuring each of the chefs. Tickets are $ 325 per person.
