Back in January, we showed you a beta version of a disc created by fans. Final Fantasy VII remaster, which uses machine learning to automatically clean the visual elements of the game. It just hit v1.0 and is ready for publication.
Here are some of the things that the mod proposes / does:
- The neural networks of the AI have enlarged the visuals of the game up to 4x the resolution of the original. Final Fantasy VII.
- Almost everything has been improved, from battle screens to world-scale textures, environmental backgrounds, and even the full-motion video footage of the game that was previously rendered.
- It works with every PC version of FFVII, including the Steam version, the Square Enix store version and even the original CD.
I know, I know, we get a complete and appropriate remake … one day, but for now and for free, it's pretty cool!
