After a sort of two week break after season 7, Fortnite has finished resting and will start season 8 in just four days. As such, it's time to start teasing what's going to happen, and Epic today released a new image that shows …something that I did not expect.
The picture above clearly shows what is a pirate hook, which implies that a pirate skin is making its entry into the game and possibly a complete pirate ship arriving on the map with some capacity. An enigma related to the teaser could imply just as much:

Treasures abound
Loot that was lost
Can always be found.
Fortnite has created treasure maps in the form of challenges in the pass, where finding the place gives you a battle star, but these have been missing for at least one season. I doubt that this is precisely what is referenced, but I hope that they will come back too, because I really liked to write guides for those.

But given the clues we have seen so far in Season 8, there is no indication that this is a pirate theme. Up to now, we have seen seismic cracks spread on the map from the bottom of the Wailing Woods, and leaks indicate that some kind of calamity is imminent and could imply a larger earthquake, a fire, tornadoes, even an arrival of volcano or monster. Nothing on … the pirates?
I will say the only The connection I can see between the leaks and this hacker theme is that the event is listed as "Cracken" in the backend. This involves both "cracks" as in the cracks of the earthquake we saw, but also "The Kraken" as in the gigantic sea monster of legend that you know, the pirates fought through millions of threads different folklore.
I've always thought that all of this could lead to some kind of monster attack. We have already tried this out when we all attacked a giant iceberg of a few billion HP, which involves a kind of large-scale fight against servers that may occur. So we could see the Kraken coming up on the side of the Wailing Woods on the island and then … a pirate ship coming to help you or something? I'm not sure, but I see a loose connection here, and I've never been able to shake the feeling that we were actually going to see some kind of gigantic monster fighting on all the servers at once, which would be great .
