We are now a few hours away from the biggest unveiling of this year's electric car.

Scheduled to be unveiled tonight, the highly anticipated Tesla Model Y will surely meet all expectations, including those highlighted in Sean Mitchell's video.

Mitchell summarizes extremely well the description of the video we added below. But first, here's what we really know.

All that is officially known about the Y model is limited to a few teasers and some advice from Musk.

According to Tesla, the Y model will be based on the Model 3. This will keep costs down, which means that a $ 40,000 Y model might be possible in the future.

Previous rumors indicated that the Y model would be a 3-line crossover, although this seems a bit debatable because of its size. It will not be as big as the X model, so we think it will be a 2 ranks.

With that, what do you expect from model Y? Do your expectations match up and down? Let us know in the comments.

Video description:

As you have probably already seen, the Model Y event will take place on March 14, 2019 in the Tesla design studio in Los Angeles. We will have our first overview of the design and specifications.

To date, we do not really know what it will look like except some dark photos provided by Tesla.

However, we know some of the specifications, so let's start by talking about it. We can finish the video on what would be nice to see at this event.

What we know:

A recent tweet from Elon says that it will be 10% bigger than Model 3 and will cost 10% more.

A 2018 T4 shareholder letter indicates that volume production will begin at the end of 2020 and that "this year we will start by tooling Model Y to achieve volume production by the end of the year. 2020, most likely at Gigafactory 1

It will share about 75% of the same parts as the model 3. For the context, the X model shares about 30% of the same parts as the model S.

Fortunately, these will not be the swinging doors.

It will have a little less autonomy with the same battery (model 3)

Here is what I intend to learn during the event:

  • Prices starting at $ 39,000 with higher price variants delivered first
  • Lower range of 200 miles and higher range of 275.
  • Material Standard for EHR
  • Supercharging V3 capable
  • Door handles style 3
  • Model 3 interior with 15 inch touch screen and ventilation system
  • Two rows of seats (instead of three)
  • No air suspension
  • Panoramic windshield

You can also keep an eye on my first video impressions the next day.
