It's an exciting time for Sonos. The multi-room loudspeaker giant has announced three new products at IFA, Europe's largest consumer technology show. Sonos Move, the company's very first portable speaker; Sonos Port, which is the next-generation version of Sonos Connect; and there's the Sonos One SL, a new entry-level Sonos speaker. We gave you a brief overview of the three new products below.

The boost of new products should not be a surprise if you followed Sonos. Patrick Spence, CEO of the company since 2017, actively encourages the company to be more open and forward looking, while pushing it to expand its product line. Since Spence took control, Sonos has launched its first smart speaker, in partnership with IKEA, to build the most affordable Sonos speakers (Symfonisk). A totally new market has opened up to it: portable audio.

Sonos Move

Sonos Move is the company's very first portable speaker. It features built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technologies, which allows it to be much more versatile than any other Sonos speaker to date. you can use it as a smart speaker Sonos One – yes, the Move can be integrated with Alexa or Google Assistant – or you can use it as a rugged and portable Bluetooth speaker. A new three-button panel on the back of the speaker lets you toggle between modes. The Sonos Move costs $ 399 and is available for pre-order now; you can pick it up in stores or buy online on September 24th.

Sonos Port

The Sonos port is the new Connect generation ($ 349) you've been waiting for. It works the same way, by connecting your existing stereo or receiver and turning your non-Sonos sound system into a system that works the same way, but the port adds big benefits. First, it supports AirPlay 2. Second, it has a 12-volt trigger, which allows the port to automatically turn on your connected receiver when it is reported by the Sonos app. And thirdly, it's matte black and seems to blend in with your other stereo components. The Sonos port costs $ 399 and is available for pre-order. A number of models will start on September 12, but will be available everywhere from January 2020.

Sonos One SL

The Sonos One SL is essentially a Sonos One speaker without the built-in mics that allow you to talk to Alexa or Google Assistant. Or you can think of it as a game: 1 person but in the body of a Sonos One. Whatever the case may be, the Sonos One SL is the company's new entry-level speaker, apart from the Ikea x Sonos Symfonisk speakers, and its price is 179 USD. It is available for pre-order now in white or black. Unfortunately, the introduction of Sonos One SL means that Sonos will gradually eliminate its original Play: 1 speaker.
