With a video description that reads simply as "an update of the PUBG team working behind the scenes to respond to cheats and unauthorized apps," the four-minute video details some of the automated checks and balances that PUBG Corp . has put in place, as also emphasizes the importance of user reports.

"We are always looking for ways to provide the most positive gambling experience possible to our community," said Dohyung Lee, head of PUBG's anti-cheat unit.

"The anti-cheat unit identifies suspicious player behavior in player reports and our internal systems," said Wonha Ryu, head of anti-cheat operations. "When we find something, we review the associated logs, get the hacking tool or device used, and start our investigation. The analysis and engineering team analyzes the hacking tool and begins to develop a response logic. "

If all this seems a bit vague and unspecific, it's intentional; In order to stay ahead of the cheats, PUBG keeps the details of his methods secret. He revealed, however, that he was using his systems to locate third-party hacking tools, and was developing ways to counter them (while banning cheats, of course). He also uses the AI ​​to investigate fraudulent claims more quickly.

"Cheat developers will always evolve their techniques to try to circumvent ours," acknowledged Dongwan Kim, an anti-cheat engineer. "So we have recently created a very sophisticated technical response that makes it more difficult for offenders to develop illegal programs, such as pointer and memory encryption, code virtualization, cross-sectioning, etc."
