It comes just a week after Dr Susan Hopkins of Public Health England said the government should consider ‘stepping up’ the tier system until an effective vaccine is widely available in the UK.

“We recognized that the country’s prioritization has had a different effect in each area,” the British medical adviser said on Monday.

“We see very little effect from level 1 and I think when we look at what levels might be there in the future, we will have to think about strengthening them in order to get us through the winter months,” he said. -she adds.
