Verizon displays download speeds with the help of the new version Galaxy S10 5G today, probably because they've opened the network a bit after a few weeks of testing. After significantly exceeding 1 Gbps in early April, Verizon's 5G network now exceeds 1 Gbps with Samsung's new phone.
I guess they have to do this to follow the important steps that AT & T continues to brag about. In a world full of stupid "firsts", AT & T has already surpassed 1Gbps and 2Gbps, although they are not currently selling a phone capable of doing what the Verizon S10 5G has just done.
The speed test below, performed by Verizon's George Koroneos, indicates a maximum speed of close to 1.1 Gbps. It's a lot faster than we found at the initial launch in April with a Moto Z3 with 5G Moto Mod attached. Do not forget that there is testing on a network with virtually no device competing for bandwidth.
Wondering why the video is cut off just before showing download speeds? This is because Verizon has not enabled 5G downloads. Their 5G network still uses 4G LTE for download.
