Here’s why Samsung Galaxy S10 One UI 3.0 (Android 11) was retired

Samsung had started rolling out the One UI 3.0 (Android 11) stable update for the Galaxy S10 series about a week ago, with several happy users taking to social media to announce that they had finally received it.

However, shortly thereafter, the OEM discontinued release for at least the Samsung Galaxy S10 due to unnamed issues. The company hadn’t really confirmed why it was forced to do so at the time.

This all happened after the most recent flagships from Samsung like the S20 series having already received the update. The Galaxy S10 series was just the next in line.

However, according to new comments on Samsung’s Korean forums, the OEM has finally given a rationale.

Since the release of Android 11 version of the S10 overseas terminal, it is determined that further improvement related to the camera is needed, so the distribution of the updated version has been temporarily suspended and a modified version will be published as soon as possible. .

As noted above, the Korean company had halted the rollout due to camera issues caused by the update.

There were some pending improvements not mentioned and Samsung will only re-release after making the necessary changes.

Additionally, multiple reports suggested there were other bugs that needed to be addressed, such as camera blur and device warming.

And while Samsung hasn’t really mentioned other issues other than the camera, we can expect other bugs to be fixed with the next update as well.

It’s unclear at this point when Samsung plans to resume rolling out the Galaxy S10 Android 11 update as they haven’t really given a date.

But given that the beta testing period has already passed and the issues in question appear to be quite minor, it should be very soon.

4:51 p.m. (ACTUAL): A Samsung moderator on the company’s Korean community forum has confirmed that the stable update for the Samsung Galaxy S10 series will go live in February. It is likely that the update will also be re-released in regions where it was withdrawn next month.

In fact, Samsung has indeed shared its Android 11 (One UI 3.0) update plans for Korea in which it has indicated that the Galaxy S10 series along with a few other devices will receive the stable update in February.
