LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers have activated field players Enrique Hernandez and Chris Taylor from the list of injured on Tuesday, just hours before the start of a six-game tour against the Toronto Blue Jays and the New York Yankees .
Alex Verdugo, however, still has some way to go.
The rookie rookie is currently on the premises of the minor league team in Arizona, but is not yet participating in baseball activities. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Verdugo was still suffering from pain in his right oblique muscle, which pushed him away on August 6th and will not be back until early September at the earliest.
Verdugo was a major catalyst for the Dodgers, who placed first, averaging .294 / .342 / .475, while recording six assists, but the team will have plenty of coverage in the # 39; interval.
Taylor, who has spent the last five weeks recovering from a broken left forearm, started in Verdugo's usual place in the left field for the first game of the series against the Blue Jays. Hernandez, who injured his left hand on July 24, started on second base. Hernandez and Taylor can each occupy several positions. They will join several Dodgers for at least the rest of the month, as the team plans both to experience the lineup and to offer veteran players an occasional leave before the post-season.
The Dodgers also on Tuesday named triple right-winger Dylan Floro and created three spots by lining up inside player Kristopher Negron on the injured list (neck), and opting for survivor Kyle Garlick and right-handed reliever Casey Sadler at minor leagues.
