Herro and Nunn help Heat reach 3-0 in Las Vegas Summer League

After some easy wins to start the NBA Las Vegas summer league, things finally got complicated for the Miami Heat.

Tyler Herro and Kendrick Nunn made sure that they came out of it.

Herro scored 25 points, Nunn added 19 and the Heat beat the Orlando Magic 96-92 on Tuesday (Wednesday, PHL time) to stay unbeaten in Las Vegas.

Miami joined Memphis, Detroit and Minnesota at 3-0, in form for the seeding when the 32 teams are reduced to eight for the tournament.

The Heat can thank his backyard who played so well on the UNLV campus. There was not much to do in the opener, while Miami led with 51 points in a 103-62 loss to China, when Herro and Nunn combined to get 38 points. They offered 38 more against Utah, while Miami led by 19 in a possible victory of 12 points.

They were even better when Miami was finally tested against Orlando (1-2), who had a 12-point lead. But Kentucky's No. 13 Herro picked up 15 points in the second quarter, before Nunn, past last season with the Santa Cruz Warriors in the NBA G League, finished with 11 points in the fourth quarter.

Amile Jefferson had 24 points and 15 rebounds for Orlando.

THUNDER 84, CROATIA 76

Kevin Hervey scored 13 points while Oklahoma City left Croatia without a win in their NBA Summer League debut.

The Thunder improved to 2-1 beating the Croatians 25-7 in the fourth quarter.

Marjan Cakarun had 13 points for Croatia (0-3), who missed his chance to win his first victory by scoring a 1-2 for 8 with 10 turnovers in the fourth quarter.

HAWKS 87, PACERS 67

Jordan Sibert scored 21 points on seven three points to lead Atlanta in a showdown of the teams that entered the match without a win.

Charles Brown added 18 points and Tahjere McCall added 15 points for the Hawks (1-2).

Alize Johnson had 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Pacers (0-3), which were 4 for 29 (14%) of the three-point range.

JAZZ 97, TRAIL BLAZERS 93

Tony Bradley and Tanner McGrew each scored 17 points for Utah (2-1).

The Jazz surpassed the 35 points of Anfernee Simons, who was 6-in-7 behind the back and 13-in-18.

Gary Trent Jr. was 4: 15, but finished with 12 points and eight rebounds for defending champion Blazers (1-2).

GRIZZLIES 79, SUNS 69

Tyler Harvey scored 19 points to lead Memphis in a lousy match in which both teams shot 35%.

Keenan Evans added 15 points, while newly acquired Grayson Allen and Dusty Hannahs had 13 points for the Grizzlies (3-0).

James Palmer Jr. scored 18 points for Phoenix (1-1).

CELTICS 95, NUGGETS 82

Carsen Edwards scored five points and scored 23 points for unbeaten Boston (3-0). He had 15 points in the first period, leading the Celtics to a 42-35 lead.

Grant Williams added 16 points and eight rebounds for the Celtics.

Brandon Goodwin led Denver (1-1) with 28 points and Jarred Vanderbilt earned 12 points and 12 rebounds.

REPORTERS 85, KNICKS 73

Chris Boucher had 23 points and seven rebounds to help Toronto (1-2) win their first game. Malcolm Miller added 19 points and eight rebounds.

RJ Barrett earned 17 points, 10 rebounds and six assists to lead New York (0-3). Kevin Knox added 15 points and Mitchell Robinson had 13 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks.

ROCKETS 94, KINGS 92

Gary Clark and Chris Clemons combined 44 points and 37 attempts for Houston's first win. Clark had 24 points and eight rebounds, and Clemons made six of 17 Rockets three-point shots.

Clark gave Houston (1-2) a 92-90 lead on a clear shot down the hall 51.7 seconds into the end. After a failure at Sacramento, Clemons gave him a four-point lead with two free throws.

Kyle Guy dominated Sacramento (2-1) with 16 points.

CLIPPERS 90, WIZARDS 72

Jerome Robinson scored 17 points and Terance Mann had 15 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists for the Clippers.

Robinson scored four shots on goal four times in the first period and scored 14 points while Los Angeles (2-1) took a 50-39 lead. Amir Coffey also finished with 15 points for the Clippers.

Admiral Schofield gave Washington 16 points (1-2). Rui Hachimura, number 9 of Gonzaga, did not play.
