A prominent video game industry insider has dismissed the idea that beloved creator Hideo Kojima is working on a new game associated with the Silent Hill franchise. In recent days, new reports have started to emerge, once again suggesting that Kojima is currently working on a Silent Hill title in conjunction with Konami and PlayStation. Despite this idea exciting a large number of fans, however, one leaker suggested that this project would not come to fruition.
According to Millie Amand, who has been a frequent source of news regarding moves involving PlayStation in recent months, Kojima Productions is not working on a new Silent Hill game. A Twitter user recently asked Amand if recent reports of Kojima developing a title in the series alongside Konami and PlayStation were true, and she didn’t mince words in her response. While she didn’t offer many additional details on this rumor, she did give a definite “no” to it.

It’s worth pointing out that Amand has had a very good track record in recent months, especially when it comes to leaks associated with PlayStation. She was once one of the first people to report PlayStation’s September presentation date, teased the reveal of Marvel’s Wolverine for PS5 ahead of its official announcement, and also beat another punch when it came to revealing a potential new Metal Gear Solid title. Given how precise she has been recently, it stands to reason that she could very well be right with this situation involving Kojima and Silent Hill. Still, since none of this can be verified, take it with the usual grain of salt.
While we can still wonder about this situation at the moment, it stands to reason that we could find out more about what Hideo Kojima will be working on in the coming year. Since his studio’s most recent project, Death stranding, launched almost two years ago, it seems time for the creator to disclose what he’s working on next.
