Police from Orange County, California, arrested a 26-year-old man early Tuesday morning after finding him stuck on the side of the road and trying to repair his car in a rather unconventional way.
Authorities were informed of this shameful behavior when a concerned citizen called to report a suspicious person who was hanging around a disabled vehicle around 6 am. When the police arrived at the scene, they found something that they would not soon forget: a man surrounded by a pile of bandages and gauze trying to repair the two flat tires of his SUV Mercedes- Benz.
According to an article posted on Facebook by the Mission Viejo Police Department, the man allegedly blew up both of the driver's tires and used a mountain of medical supplies to try to repair the sidewall of his damaged tire. The photos show that the man tried to stuff medical gauze (usually used to heal wounds) inside the gaping hole of the tire, while folded bandages littered the sidewalk.
"When I approached him, he said that he was trying to repair his tires while he was in shorts sitting on the ground without shoes," wrote Ronald Ruef, saying that he was the person who phoned the police that morning to report his behavior. "He had leaves and branches in the front bumper and the two tires on the driver's side appeared to have hit the sidewalk and had to jump into the landscaping area."
But the strange behavior is not the only reason why the individual was arrested. Police quickly determined that the man was "under the influence of drugs" and detained him.
Meanwhile, the comments section of the police station is turned into a gallery of peanuts with stupid jokes. One Facebook user suggested that the man would have had better results if he had used branded bandages rather than the generic one, while another suggested that a CVS receipt would have been more effective than gauze. The real winner might have been Flex-Tape.
