Specifications for the 11th Gen Intel Tiger Lake-H processor family, designed for avid laptops, have been disclosed. The specs confirm that we will get clock speeds of up to 5.00 GHz on the flagship Tiger Lake-H processor.

The image disclosed by HXL comes straight from an in-house Intel release platform for the 11th generation Tiger Lake-H processor family. As expected, the 11th Gen Intel processor lineup for high-end laptops will consist of five models, two of which will feature 6 cores and 3 8 cores. Intel has also launched its Tiger Lake-H (35W) family which consists of 4 core models, but the Tiger Lake-H (45W) line is designed only for high-end and passionate mobility platforms. The lineup is split into Core i9, Core i7, and Core i5 variants and we’ve seen some performance drops on a few SKUs over the past few weeks.

11th Generation Intel Core i9 Tiger Lake-H (45W) processors

First of all, we have the most high-end Intel Core i9 processors which include two models. The flagship model is the Intel Core i9-11980HK and this chip is a beast of a mobility solution with 8 cores, 16 threads and 24MB of L3 cache, all based on the core architecture of Willow Cove. The 11980HK comes with a base clock speed of 2.6 GHz (45 W) which is configurable up to 3.3 GHz (65 W) and boost clocks rated up to 5.0 GHz (1 to 2 cores), 4.9 GHz (4 cores), 4.7 GHz (6 cores), 4.5 GHz (all cores).

Maximum boost frequency is reached when Turbo Boost Max technology kicks in and requires a certain set of prerequisites, such as keeping temperatures below the maximum threshold and operating within power limits. The Intel Core i9-11980HK will feature 65W cTDP and also support overclocking. Intel also introduced the Core i9-11980HK at its maximum boost clock a few days ago, which you can read here.

The second model, the Intel Core i9-11900H, maintains the same configuration but has a lower clock speed of 2.5 GHz (45W) / 2.1 GHz (35W) base and boost clocks of 4.9. GHz (1-2 cores), 4.800 GHz (4 cores), 4.6 GHz (6 cores) and 4.4 GHz (all cores). Both processors will be equipped with the Intel UHD graphics chip with GPU Xe with 32 EU (256 cores) with a base clock of 350 MHz and a boost clock of 1.45 GHz.

11th Generation Intel Core i7 Tiger Lake-H processors (45W)

Then we have the only Core i7 model in the Intel Tiger Lake-H (45W) processor family. The Intel Core i7-11800H processor has the same core configuration as the high-end Core i9 8 core variants, but is configured with lower clock speeds. The processor operates with a base frequency of 2.4 GHz (45 W) and 2.0 GHz (35 W). Boost clocks are reported at 4.6 GHz (1 – 2) cores, 4.5 GHz (4 cores), 4.4 GHz (6 cores), 4.2 GHz (all cores). Unlike the Core i9 models, the Intel Core i7 processors do not feature Intel Thermal Velocity Boost 3.0 technology, hence the 300 MHz boost clock difference between the i9-11900H and i7-11800H.

11th Gen Intel Core i5 Tiger Lake-H SKU (45W)

Finally, we move on to the Intel 11th Gen Tiger Lake-H Core i5 line. The lineup consists of the Core i5-11400H as a top model which includes 6 cores, 12 threads and 12MB L3 cache. Clocks are kept at 2.7 GHz (45 W) / 2.2 GHz (35 W) at the base and at 4.5 GHz (1 to 2 cores), 4.30 GHz (4 cores), 4.1 GHz (all cores).

The second model is the Core i5-11260H which also has the same core configuration but has lower clock speeds of 2.6 GHz (45W) / 2.1 GHz (35W) at the base and 4.4 GHz ( 1 to 2 cores), 4.2 GHz (2 -core) and 4.0 GHz (all cores) boost. What’s interesting here is that the Core i5-11400H features UHD graphics with the same clock speeds up to 1.45GHz while the Core i5-11260H pushes things up to 1.4 GHz. Intel Core i5 Tiger Lake-H processors also appear to only support DDR4-2933 memory compared to DDR4-3200 for Core i9 and Core i7 components.

The Intel 11th Gen Tiger Lake-H line of processors is expected to make an official retail entry in Q2 2021 around Computex 2021. We can expect to see several laptops and notebooks with high-end processor and GPU configurations. , but at very high prices compared to AMD. Ryzen 5000H processor line.
