Hilary Duff explains how ‘really heavy’ it was filming final season of Younger
Hilary Duff said she was moved to film the end of her Younger series.
“ Honestly it’s heavy, it’s really heavy, ” the 33-year-old star told Brooke Baldwin, replacing Ellen on Friday. “ All the people on this show where a family and we have all been through so much, you know how to have kids, marriages, divorces. ”
The Houston native added, “ Our characters have grown so much we all grew up as a family. ”

Duff said it was “ strange ” to part ways with the cast and crew of the rom-com series, which co-starred with Sutton Foster, Miriam Shor and Hilary Duff.
“ I know I’m going to see them again, but it’s weird, for seven years of my life I’ve based all my other jobs on those four months I’m in New York with these people on this team, ” she declared. . “ Honestly, the team that was so emotional, it was like I don’t know when I’m going to see them again. ”
Last September, the show’s creator Darren Star told TVLine that the show’s seventh season was “ unofficially ” scheduled as its last.
The show’s sixth production season was completed in September 2019, with the coronavirus pandemic halting season seven production until last fall.

Star said the COVID-19 pandemic will likely be incorporated into the show’s seventh season.
“ Younger’s action sort of picks up where the last season left off, which was before the pandemic, ” Star told the newspaper. “ But I think we can’t wait to bring it into the action as the season progresses. ”
Duff is currently expecting her third child – she is the mother of two-year-old Banks, with husband Matthew Koma, and eight-year-old son, Luca, with ex-husband Mike Comrie.
In the episode, Duff said she wrote her latest children’s book, My Little Brave Girl, in the Notes app on her phone, explaining the timeline that inspired the material.

‘Yeah, in the notes [app] from my phone, actually, she said. I was going back to work and had a really colicky baby, so Banks was very attached to me and … not even four months after giving birth, ” she said. “ I went back to work and 16, 17 hours a day on set, it’s really not a good place for a baby, so a lot of growing pains and learning to separate … it’s hard to let go. ”
She said that as she nursed the child, she appreciated Banks’ courage in rebounding the baby from “ a struggle ” not to be with her mother as much as she wanted.
“It inspired this book,” she added, noting that she was holding her daughter in her arms as she wrote it.
