Police arrested an individual in connection with the death of Missing girl actress Lisa Banes.
On Friday August 5, a New York City Police spokesperson confirmed to E! News that they had arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with an ongoing investigation. The spokesperson said he was “arrested and charged in the 20th arrondissement on Thursday August 6”.
The individual faces charges of leaving the scene of a fatal accident and of not yielding to a pedestrian. He appeared for his arraignment on Friday August 6 and remains in custody.
Banes was hit by a scooter or motorbike as she was crossing the street to visit her alma mater, Julliard School, on June 4. The 65-year-old actress was taken to hospital in critical condition, with authorities reporting that she was found on the roadway with a severe head injury.
