Hobby Lobby, a chain of arts and crafts stores, would cancel its 40% discount coupon offered at its more than 900 stores across the country and online.
The move, which takes effect Feb. 28, allows Hobby Lobby to ramp up efforts to cut thousands of items every day, the company said on Facebook, according to USA Today.
“This will provide better value instead of providing a single item discount with the coupon,” Hobby Lobby said.
Hobby Lobby did not immediately provide a comment to Business Insider.

A number of customers were disappointed with the news, with some saying in Facebook comments that the coupon was the only reason they were encouraged to shop at Hobby Lobby, USA Today reported.
An online petition to overturn the decision is circulating on Change.org and was shared on the Hobby Lobby Facebook page.
“Yes they have sales, but sometimes you need that extra 40% off thing because it’s at full price. That’s why we love Hobby Lobby, for the little things,” one reads. the petition. “And in these difficult times, don’t take that away from us.”

Customers can still use the coupon until March 14 due to the grace period, according to a blog from The Karzy Coupon Lady.
In April, the company said it would lay off nearly all of the store’s employees and “end the payment of emergency leave and suspend the use of paid time off and company-provided vacation” as it struggled to keep his business afloat when the coronavirus pandemic hit the country.
