After considering making the 2020 NFL Draft, the Virginia Tech offensive lineman Brock Hoffman has announced plans to return to Blacksburg for the 2021 football season.
Hoffman, a transfer out of Coastal Carolina, failed the 2019 season due to NCAA transfer restrictions. In the 2020 season, Hoffman started every game for the Hokies at center, winning the ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week after his game against NC State and Louisville.
“I want to thank my coaches, my family and my teammates for supporting me through such a hectic and abnormal year. It has been a blessing to be a part of the rich tradition of the Virginia Tech football program.
“2020 has not allowed Hokie Nation to fill those seats at Lane Stadium this season, an experience I have longed for now. I can only hope and pray for this incredible experience for me and my teammates in 2021.
“I will continue to be the leader that Coach Fuente and Coach Vice brought me here to lead this team to a championship season!
“The #VICESQUAD is not over yet !!! #ToughStays”
Prior to joining Virginia Tech, Hoffman started 12 games at center as a true rookie, followed by 12 more starts at right guard.
After the 2020 season, Hoffman was named Honorable Mention All-ACC.
“Hoffman started all 11 games at center and helped the Hokies rush for 240.1 yards per game which placed second in the conference. Tech has scored 27 rushing touchdowns this season and has amassed over 200 rushing yards eight times, 250+ six times and 300 or more yards three times. Hoffman has been named ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week twice (9/28) and (11/2). “
