Holmby Hills Weapon Cache: More than 1,000 firearms were seized in the Los Angeles Mansion, linked to the Getty family; Girard Damien Saenz arrested

A mogul of real estate related to the Getty family is listed as a resident of the Los Angeles mansion where massive cache of arms was seized, according to the public records and the Los Angeles Times. Authorities raided Wednesday Holmby Hills and seized more than 1,000 firearms after anonymous information, reported CBS Los Angeles.

Girard Damien Saenz, 56, was arrested for manufacturing, distributing, transporting or selling assault weapons, a crime, the Los Angeles Police Department said. Saenz was held on bail of $ 50,000.

Public records show that Cynthia Beck, a real estate mogul in Los Angeles, resides at home. Beck would have three daughters with the son of oil tycoon J. Paul Getty, Gordon Getty.

Saenz is identified in court documents obtained by The Times as Beck's long-time companion. The publication reported that Beck had bought the property in 2001, but it is unclear whether it has anything to do with the charges against Saenz.

Public registries list Saenz as a household member for several other addresses related to Beck. She did not respond to a request for comment from The Times.

A spokesman for the US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in Los Angeles confirmed that a "joint investigation with LAPD" was underway, reported CBS Los Angeles.

A large number of weapons, including rifles and other shoulder guns, were seen being collected in the driveway of the house, located in a High-profile celebrity district, including hip-hop icons Beyoncé and Jay-Z, the Times reported.

The authorities have also discovered thousands of ammunition cartridges, Reported Tom Wait of CBS Los Angeles.

"It's a big reserve," Lieutenant Chris Ramirez was quoted as saying by the press. "It's incomprehensible that someone can have so many weapons in a residence like this, in a neighborhood like this."

ATF spokeswoman Ginger Colbrun said the authorities "have no reason to believe that the public is in danger".
