Homeowner shoots intruder into downtown, police say

Police said that one of the owners had shot and wounded a man who had forcibly taken him to his downtown home on the north side on Friday morning.

The intruder has pioneered a way through a sliding back door of the 800-block West Lakeside Place shortly after midnight, according to Chicago police.

The owner confronted him and shot him in the buttocks, police said. The intruder, 42, was taken to the Masonic Medical Center of Illinois, where he was stabilized.

The owner was not injured. The police said that he had a valid firearm owner's identity card.

The charges were pending.
