Honda could destroy its British car factory in 2022

More Brexit victims in the automotive industry waiting? According to sources, Honda is expected to announce the closure of its Swindon plant in the United Kingdom. Such a move would put 3,500 "endangered" jobs on the site, as well as thousands more in the plant's national supply chain.

The Swindon plant, which produces the hatchback Civic, including the 316 hp type R, is Honda's only car production plant in the EU. He has already announced a six-day shutdown in April 2019 to assess the disruptions associated with Britain's impending exit from the EU on March 29, but a decision to close the plant completely would be a shock.

Claims suggest that Honda will maintain its headquarters in Bracknell even though the Swindon plant is destroyed.

Honda has not yet officially commented on this information, which was first published on Sky News on Monday, February 18th. Currently, the factory produces more than 100,000 cars a year, the vast majority of which is exported.

More updates as we get them.
