Honda refuses to comment on the news of the closure of the Swindon factory

Honda remains unobtrusive at the announcement of the closure of the Swindon plant, endangering 3,500 jobs.

The news broke earlier this afternoon, the South Marston plant could close by 2022.

Despite the confirmation of local deputies in Swindon, the company refuses to provide more details.

A spokesman for Honda simply said: "At the moment, we are not able to comment on speculation.
