Honda is ready to purify the air … from the coronavirus.
The automaker has developed a cabin air filter accessory that it claims can trap and destroy 98.8% of airborne coronavirus particles, including that responsible for COVID-19, over the course of ” a 15-minute air conditioning system cycle.
The unit has been treated with zinc phosphate and designed to fit the standard air filter.

It lasts over 9,000 miles before needing to be replaced, which is just short of the recommended time between typical air filter replacements.

Honda named it Kurumask, which is a combination of the Japanese word for car, Kuruma, and mask.
Unfortunately, it is currently only compatible with the Honda N-One microcompact sold in Japan, but Honda plans to introduce versions for other models.
